Half term holidays and a special trip to St Lucia for the family (except Hugo who is busy at Imperial engineering chemicals). Courtesy of BA and their Avios, we travelled in style for the first time as a family and the boys just loved it (funnily enough).
We arrived in St Lucia at 3pm and then we had the second treat of a helicopter ride to our hotel, The East Winds Inn on Gros Islet.
The temperature was 30 degrees, the hotel small and friendly and we just knew it was going to be fabulous.

Join the Club
The boys' first trip in Club Class and they took to it like fish to water. Oh dear.
The Road less Travelled
It's an hour and twenty to the hotel by taxi over rough roads. Or ten minutes by helicopter.
Chopper View
You get a good view from up here.
Banking
Just look where the horizon is!
Breakfast Watchers
These guys were regular visitors to the wall by our table for breakfast.
The Beach
East Winds has two beaches really, we stayed on this beach, where there were about ten sunbeds. They were never all in use. True luxury is space.
Shelter
It rained, sometimes when we were on the beach!
Barman
At the pool there was a bar that you could help yourself. And we did!
Woboba
What would we do without it?
The Landings
American style resort from where we took our sunset sail.
Catamaran Crew
Oscar and Xav enjoy an evening cruise on a big cat.
Us and Them
Foreground, a fisherman's shack. Background, the Landings a five star resort.
Fishermen, Rodney Bay
At the end of the day, the fishermen gather to say how big was the one that got away.
Family Shot
You won't see many pictures of me but here is one to prove I was there!
Sunset
We saw some fabulous sunsets whilst here, but the best was when we were out at sea. It's a big sky.
Rain
It rained. Quite often. But never for very long.
Rain II
It really rained sometimes!
Mango Man
The fruit man visiting Windjammer Landings, a short walk across the shore. Last time we saw him Pen paid about $50 for a banana and a mango!
Motorised!
The boys took advantage of a friendly deal with the neighbouring hotel's water sport staff to have a quick ski and wakeboard.
Sea Horses
Sunday afternoon and a group of ponies came for a run and swim on the beach after a Cancer Charity parade, weraing pink ribbons.
Football Friends
As the sun began to set, some local guys asked the boys to play football. A couple of bamboos for posts and the game was on.
