The winter weather was cold and wet and windy and we really wanted to get away for Christmas and New Year. Our last trip to the Caribbean had been three years ago and had been to the small island of Bequia in St Vincent and The Grenadines. We had been charmed by the island and its friendly people and simple way of life so decided to return. We booked our flights, via Barbados and a puddle jump to Bequia, and a villa overlooking the capital, Port Elizabeth called Silver Dollar Villas.
The travel didn’t quite go according to plan, due to delays with BA in London, but we had the fun of a night in St Vincent and a ferry to Bequia.
The trip has been one of a different view of the Caribbean, must more local, much more real and less commercial.
Christmas Day was spent at the Limings Hotel, a touch of luxury during our trip and a lovely lunch as well.
It’s been fabulous and we will definitely come back.
